ZO Stimulator Peel – The Ultimate Red Carpet Peel

D’Arcy-Hall Skin Studio is delighted to offer the revolutionary ZO Stimulator Peel, developed by the world leading skin care expert, Dr Zein Obagi.

This 20 minute “lunch time peel” is great for those living busy lives or who have a special event they wish to arrive at with a glow. It’s a true miracle worker in just 20 minutes.

The ZO stimulator peel is a superficial peel suitable for all skin types. Although gentle on the skin, it’s powerful enough to provide instant changes to the appearance and texture of the skin.

The peel uses a combination of lactic acid, salicylic and citric acid as well as additional concentrations of potent active ingredients.

The blend of citric, salicylic and lactic acid stimulates cell turnover, encouraging dead skin cells to slough away, leaving skin with a healthy and dewy glow. The potent blend of alpha hydroxy acids (AHA’s) and beta hydroxy acids (BHA’s) simultaneously work together to collectively provide overall, general rejuvenation.

The peel provides a multitude of benefits such as accelerated exfoliation, brightening of dull skin tone, general prevention of skin aging, improvement in appearance of fine lines, smoother skin texture, refinement of large pores and reduction of acne.

The “RED CARPET PEEL” is so named due to it’s celebrity following. The best part of the exfoliation process with this peel is that there is no redness or risk of flaky skin, no downtime, just healthy, clear skin.

The acids explained

AHA exfoliants are water soluble, working on the skin’s surface whereas BHA exfoliants work both on the skin’s surface and at a dermal level, making it the preferred choice when treating clogged pores and blemishes.

  • Salicylic acid is a BHA that acts as a chemical exfoliator. It works by penetrating the hair follicle and oil gland, dissolving dead skin cells, oil and debris. Salicylic acid can penetrate deeper into the skin than any other chemical exfoliators. This BHA also has some anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Lactic acid is an AHA that also acts a chemical exfoliator. It speeds up skin cell turnover and improves skin’s overall texture. Lactic acid is part of the skin’s natural moisturising factor (NMF) and its unique structure allows it to bind water within skin. Lactic acid also has antioxidant properties
  • Citric acid is another AHA presented in the ZO stimulator peel. It acts as a chemical exfoliator but typically only when used in higher concentrations and when combined in the right formulation. Citric acid is derived from citrus fruits and is used in conjunction with other acids to adjust the PH of formulations.

FAQs

This peel consists of a combination of 3 exfoliating alpha/beta hydroxyl acids including lactic, citric and salicylic, as well as other high concentrations of active ingredients that will cause a very gentle exfoliation of the very upper dead skin cells, stimulate the production of elastin and collagen and over a course of treatments lead to a reduction in lines, wrinkles and uneven skin tone.

Although you will see an improvement in your skin following just one peel, for best results we always recommend a course of 4 treatments. These can be taken at 2 week intervals for maximum results. To optimise the results of your treatment we recommend the use of Zo Skin transformation medical grade skincare.

Main contraindications include pregnancy, breast feeding ,allergy to aspirin and skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis in the treatment area.

The ZO Stimulator peel is a comfortable treatment unlike some of the much stronger chemical peels. Whilst the peel is on the skin you may experience a mild, warming, tingling sensation, this is quite normal and will disappear once the peel has been neutralised.
